The Shelter is a safe haven for women and children who suffer from domestic abuse. Our mission is to transform victims into survivors and survivors into success stories.
We achieve our mission in two ways:
Firstly, we provide short-term emergency shelter, offering a place of refuge and support. Residents length of stay varies according to their needs and on the recommendations of their assigned consellor. During this time they receive therapeutic counselling and are encouraged to acquire marketable skills. The Shelter will assist with the necessary skills training.
Secondly, The Shelter has an Outreach Programme for non-residents, providing various medical, legal and training services necessary to help with the transition from victim to survivor to success.
The Shelter houses a children's activity room, a training room and library, along with regular living quarters.
